COVID-19 Update from the Mayor (05/20/20)

The Mayor's informational updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

**CURRENT UPDATE**

To: The Residents of the City of Cameron

Our community’s number of Covid-19 cases remain stable.  Clinton County currently has four active cases but, thankfully, none of those are in the City of Cameron.

I, once again, want to express my greatest appreciation for everyone practicing social distancing and adhering to the guidelines of City of Cameron Order 20-03 which remains in effect.  We have not received any new instructions from our health officials but are hopeful that changes may be forthcoming over the next several weeks.

Many questions have been asked about opening up access to nursing homes.  Clinton County Health Department Director Blair Shock addressed this question in his recent update:

“…restrictions to visitors to long-term care facilities will probably be in place for an extended period of time. Outcomes for infections of long-term care residents have been very poor and preventing outbreaks within these facilities is of the utmost importance.”

As always, please contact us at City Hall if you have any questions or concerns (816) 632-2177.

Sincerely,

Darlene Breckenridge, Mayor
