COVID update

Good morning folks,

It is time for our weekly COVID update.

We currently have 13 positive cases in Clinton County, one of which is active (the other 12 have resolved.)

To date, 545 tests have been conducted in Clinton County for COVID-19

Cameron Regional Medical Center has changed their fever tent operation to now function as a drive-through testing site. They are in operation Monday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm. Persons presenting for testing without an order from a physician will have a telehealth visit in their vehicle prior to being tested. For further information, you can call the testing tent directly at 816-284-5467.

The current County and State distancing order in place require persons to maintain at least 6 feet of distance with others while in public. Furthermore, businesses are have restrictions on the number of persons allowed in a business at any given time, and are required to maintain distancing between patrons. Full text of the County order can be found here: https://clintoncohealth.org/new-public-health-emergency-or…/

All persons over age 2 are recommended to wear a cloth facial covering over the mouth and nose while in public. The idea behind cloth face covers is they reduce the number of respiratory droplets a person emits from their nose and mouth, reducing the risk to those they come into contact with.

As testing in Buchanan County shows, a significant number of persons with COVID-19 are asymptomatic, and have no idea they have, and are transmitting the illness. Wearing a covering in public helps protect people from spreading the illness to other people. We encourage everyone to do their part in keeping our communities healthy.
