Dragons receive national attention for praying

Although ending their season two weeks ago, the Cameron High School football team continues receiving national media attention following a request to immediately cease pre and postgame prayers.

The Dragons received national attention following a letter by the Freedom From Religion Foundation to cease coach led religious activities, catching the eye of national outlets Fox News, USA Today and Brietbart.com along with various regional news outlets.

“We tell them all of time, ‘ignore the clutter.’ Nothing that happened this week helped us become a better football player or a better man so we didn’t worry about it,” said Jeff Wallace, CHS football coach, in one of his few responses to the media following the Freedom from Region Foundation’s request. “We didn’t even address it …”
