Cameron Cyclist Represents at Land Run 100
On March 16, Cameron resident Ronald Pinkston traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma to participate in the Land Run 100, one of the nation’s top gravel bicycling events. The 100-mile race attracts over 2000 gravel and adventure cyclist from all over the United States. The race is considered a must-do for cyclists looking to test their mettle and endurance against Oklahoma’s notorious red dirt and gravel.
According to Ronald the Land Run 100 was exhilarating. He was more than proud when he got to hear his name and town announced over the loudspeaker as he crossed the finish line, “And finishing 774th is Ronald Pinkston Jr. from Cameron MO”. Ronald trains on local Cameron roads, including the sunrise trail and every gravel road within a 100-mile radius.
