City secures housing for displaced Chestnut Arms residents

Cameron City Manager Steve Rasmussen announced the city secured housing for 12 residents of the Chestnut Arms following a request to vacate the property due to immediate health concerns.

Earlier this month the city requested assistance in finding housing for 12 residents of the Chestnut Arms, citing numerous potentially hazardous living conditions, and Monday Rasmussen circulated a press release stating the city found housing for the residents thanks to community stakeholders.

According to the press release circulated by Rasmussen, the city - through the commitment and dedication of the community stakeholders - was able to secure accommodations for all residents. The city of Cameron’s foremost mission is to protect the health, safety and welfare of all of its citizens. Ensuring that inhabitable structures are safe for the occupation of its citizens is a part of that mission.
