Osborn has an All-Conference and All-District Scholar Bowl Team Member

All Conference and All District honors aren’t easy to get, but for one freshman on the Osborn Scholar Bowl team, that’s exactly what happened this season. Emily Matter, an OHS freshman this year was recently named a member of both the All Conference and All District Scholar Bowl teams. She was the fourth highest scorer in the 275 conference this year and took home third in the district for top leading scorers.

This was her first year competing on the high school team, and also her first year competing on Osborn’s team. Emily transferred in from Stewartsville at the beginning of the year. She led the Stewartsville Junior High team to national competition last spring. Emily was a big asset to the team, and everyone appreciated her. She even helped win a match against her former school.  “It was really exciting, and I’m really happy I did so well. Osborn has some great players, and I’m happy to be part of the team,” said Emily about her accomplishments.

“I was very proud of Emily. She has answered a lot of questions this year on a variety of topics. It is quite an honor for being a freshman,” said Mr. Matter, the academic team coach. Emily won’t play again until next spring, but she’s already looking forward to her sophomore season.
