Soccer Club Plays Hearts Out

        The Cameron Dragon Soccer Club was busy over the weekend. Some teams played at Lathrop on Saturday, while some competed on Sunday at Lawson. Temperatures both days were “blazing hot” in the words of Cameron representative Jason Welch.

 

         U8-Welch defeated Lathrop-Spidle 7-1. Kendall Berry and Ryker Haggard each scored two goals, while Ethan Henry, Hope Hammontree, and Connor Williams scored a goal each.

 

         U-8-Murphy, lost to Lathrop-Huey, 3-0.

 

         U10-Ramey defeated Lathrop 7-0. Isabelle “Tiny” Ramey scored three goals, while Ian Chaffins, Blake Anderson, Reed White, and Emme Dodd scored one goal each.

 

         U10-Prado defeated Weston-Halbgewachs by a score of 4-0. Two goals scored by Brayden Henry with Kaden Martin and Lexi Robinson scoring a goal each.

 

         U12-Hill fought to a 3-3 tie with Kearney-Graves. Goals were scored by Samuel Welch, (with a redirect from Carissa Stuedle into goal), and Devin Keyes scored two goals from a distance.

 

         U12-Huettl lost a close game to Kearney-McNellis, by a score of 2-3. Cameron goals were both scored by Sage Burnett.

 

         U15 lost to Richmond 0-2

 

“All the kids played their hearts out,” said a proud Coach Welch, “Every team gave it their all”.
