Federal Law Enforcement Services, LLC makes donation to Community Cupboard

On Jan. 23, Federal Law Enforcement Services, LLC (FLES) hosted a Carry Conceal Endorsement Training, CCW, New Beginning 2016, in Weatherby. The objective of this mandated eight-hour course was to qualify Missouri residents who wished to enact their 2nd Amendment. In addition, FLES donated part of the proceeds to The Community Cupboard Food Pantry in Cameron to help fight hunger in our communities.

“We have had several of these courses since 2008,” said John A. Oaks, CEO of FLES. “And with new legislation the laws have changed once again. We have had several interested in the course and, like many American’s, people are concerned for their safety, which seems to be the number one answer among participants who come to our course when asked.”

FLES donated part of the proceeds from this course to The Community Cupboard.  “We have helped sponsor many fundraisers since we started in business in 2008,” says Oaks. “Recently we have elected to sponsor The Community Cupboard, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to helping folks here locally, that have hard times making ends meet,” adds Oaks. “The economy is tough, employers are downsizing, job market isn’t what it used to be, and people sometimes need a little assistance with nourishment. The Community Cupboard helps folks here in our county of DeKalb, as well as Caldwell, Clinton, Daviess, Ray, and Clay. They also do not have financial guidelines, like many other pantries do, which some folks who are just having a rough time, under normal circumstances, would not qualify for.”

“The generous donation from FLES, raised by the CCW class will help us purchase 1,200 pounds of nourishment for our community members, people who need assistance with food, which mathematically calculates out to roughly 400 community members for a day,” says Larry L. Griffey, CEO/Director The Community Cupboard. “We have plans to purchase meat, canned goods, dry goods, and fresh produce,” adds Griffey. “We are non government funded and receive funding from donations, non government grants and fundraisers.”

“With warmer weather approaching, we intend on conducting more CCW classes with the same goals in mind---helping folks support their 2nd Amendment and supporting our community via The Community Cupboard,” states Oaks. “Our next course is scheduled for mid April.”

“Information on this and other events can be found on our Facebook page, The Community Cupboard,” adds Griffey or call 816-632-0233 or John Oaks 660-247-3365 for more info.
