Golf tournament supports Cameron Veterans Assistance League
The Cameron Veterans Assistance League is a non-profit organization working to honor the lives of Missouri veterans by augmenting the care and quality of life provided through the Cameron Veterans Home. The organization provides outings, support equipment and special events to enrich the lives of veterans living at the Cameron Home. Their work is supported through charitable donations and through planned events such as golf tournaments. This summer, the organization has scheduled three separate golf tournaments to help underwrite the costs of supporting Missouri veterans. The Cameron Veterans Assistance League will host a golf tournament in three locations over the summer – one each month. The first tournament will take place on June 11, 2016 at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and tee time is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided for players. The second tournament will be played on Saturday, July 9 2016 at the Paradise Point Golf Club in Smithville, MO. The tournament will be a four-man scramble with registration at 7:00 a.m. and tee-off at 8:00 a.m. The third tournament of the summer to benefit the Cameron Veterans Assistance League will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Maryville’s Mozingo Lake Golf Course. The Tom Watson-designed course will host individual players or four-man teams. And this year, the Veterans/Residents Council of the Cameron Veterans Home has voted to sponsor youth golfers for nine holes. “We hope that golfers in Northwest Missouri will sign up and play some holes for a worthy cause this summer” says Brad Haggard, administer of the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Mo.. “Players can choose a date and location that works for them or play all three tournaments. These events promise to be a lot of fun and provide more fun to the heroes living at the Cameron Veterans Home.” Haggard adds. For those not able to play in the tournament(s), corporate and individual sponsorships are available.
