Mom Prom benefits Foster Adopt Connect
Music, dancing and smiles surrounded the 160 patrons who attended the first Mom Prom hosted by Foster Adopt Connect Northwest Missouri on Friday, April 29 at the Cameron Regional YMCA. Snacks, games and a photographer were also provided.
“We were really excited about all the people that came out to support a great cause,” said Derek Williams, Foster Adopt Connect director. “ It was great to see all the moms and sons having a great time and supporting a local cause right here in our community.”
A total of approximately $2,000 was raised to help keep their building at 211 E. Third St. running. $800 of the total was donated by the photographer of the evening, Becky Neeley of Creative Vibes Photography, who contributed 100 percent of her profits to the cause.
“Becky played a huge part,” said Williams. “We really appreciate what she did and can’t thank her enough.”
Stephanie Marshall attended the event with her three boys. Marshall said she and her sons had a great time at the event.
“The even busted out some sweet moves I hadn’t seen yet,” stated Marshall. “They said they would definitely take me again next year!”
