Plane crash at Cameron Airshow

On behalf of the Cameron Airshow, we’d like to emphasize that our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the pilot that was involved in the accident
Cameron Chief of Police Rick Bashor held a press conference at the police department regarding the plane crash at Cameron Memorial Airport during the Cameron Airshow Saturday afternoon.
“On behalf of the Cameron Airshow, we’d like to emphasize that our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the pilot that was involved in the accident,” Chief Bashor said.
Chief Bashor said the Federal Aviation Administration is on site and the National Transportation Safety board has been notified. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation into the accident with assistance from the Cameron Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol.

He said the pilot was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Chief Bashor said the department would provide an update on the pilot’s condition as soon as they have received official word from the medical center.
He said the rest of the daytime air show for Saturday was cancelled but after consulting with the FAA, the air show for Saturday night would be held as originally scheduled as will the performance for Sunday.

Lt. Scott Meyer with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Kyle White with Aviation Solutions were also at the news conference.
