Second Crossroads Crush successful

On September 17, the Aiden McVicker Charitable Fund and the Cameron Chamber of Commerce joined together to present the second Crossroads Crush at around McCorkle Park and on part of Third Street in Cameron.

According to Pam Ice of the Chamber of Commerce, they believe there were about 1000 people in attendance for the event, which included eight wineries and distilleries and approximately forty vendors.

The cost of the ticket was $20 prior to the event, $25 the day of the event and included wine and spirit tasting at all eight vendors. Some of the vendors included, chainsaw artists, painting, photography, glass blowing and several non profit vendors, offering funnel cakes, a petting zoo and carnival style games.

Jamey McVicker, accompanied by his son Aiden and daughter Adrian, spoke to the City Council on Monday September 19, thanking all of the support the festival received from the Council, the city staff and all of the Police, Fire and EMS services that were on site for the event.

“we just want to come say thank you for this past weekend, for putting your faith and trust in us and in the product we can put out there. We know it is going out on a limb. City staff was absolutely phenomenal, from the police department having a presence,  the Fire Department was part of our security, public works, the streets worked fabulous after all the rain that week, the park was beautiful, the parks department did a fantastic job. Also wanted to take this platform to thank our volunteers, the Chamber of Commerce and everyone that put so much effort into this festival. I think we had a great festival, I’m a little biased. But I just wanted to express our appreciation.”
