Suspect fatally shot in DeKalb County

Law enforcement personnel from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in DeKalb County Sunday morning.

According to a news release from the highway patrol, officers made contact with a white male suspect armed with a weapon and ordered the suspect to drop the weapon. The suspect pointed the weapon at officers at which time officers fired their weapons and fatally wounded the suspect.

The incident took place on SW Thornton Road, northwest of Stewartsville, shortly after 10 a.m.

The identity of the suspect has not been released and troopers from the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department continue their investigation.
