Winter Storm Warning Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for snow, sleet and freezing rain for northwest Missouri.

The warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday to 9 p.m. Monday.

Precipitation in the form of freezing rain and sleet will overspread the area Sunday night before transitioning over to all snow later in the day on Monday.

Accumulations of four to six inches of snow are possible across northwest Missouri with amounts of one to three inches possible southeast of Interstate 35.

Ice accumulations of up to three-tenths of an inch will be possible southeast of I-35 before the activity transitions to all snow Monday afternoon.

In addition to the snow and ice, strong northeast winds gusting to 45 miles per hour will impact the area later Sunday night and Monday.
