Bobby G. Walker 1932-2017

 

Cameron - Bobby Galen Walker, 84, Cameron passed away on April 14, 2017 at his home.

Bobby was born August 22, 1932 in Turney to A.D. and Eldon (Peters) Walker. They preceded him in death.

He was a 1950 graduate of Cameron High School. Bobby served in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War.

On April 4, 1953, Bobby married Virginia Foster in Cameron.

Bobby was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cameron where he served as a Deacon and did the sound system for several years.

He worked for the Cameron Police Department for 5 years and for Armco Steel in Kansas City for 30 years, before retiring.

Bobby enjoyed flying his own plane and playing his guitar. He loved being surrounded by his family.

Survivors: wife of 64 years, Virginia of the home; two sons, Aaron (Helen) Walker, Cameron, Clayton (Darla) Walker, Turney; daughter, Barbara Cordonier, Cameron; brother, Larry (Sharon) Walker, Cameron; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation was held from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service. Inurnment: Harlan Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to Comfort Care Hospice and/or Missouri Baptist Children’s Home.
