Carol Jean Anderson February 03, 1938 - May 09, 2022

Carol Jean Anderson, Cameron, was born on February 3, 1938, to Violet and John Houdeshell in Newell, IA.  She was the sixth of seven children in this family.  Carol passed from this Earthly life on May 9, 2022, in Cameron, MO.  Carol met Dennis Anderson at school in Paton, IA, and they were married in 1954.  Their marriage brought them five children.  Jobs took them to several locations and Carol's job as a mother was eventually supplemented by various jobs including cleaning houses, weeding soybeans, owning and managing a cafe and, finally, working for the U.S. Postal Service in Stratford and Ames, IA, and Windom, MN.  After Carol and Dennis retired, they enjoyed life "on the road" in a motor home and traveled the U.S. before settling in Welton, AZ.  Eventually they migrated back to the Midwest to be closer to family, landing in Cameron.  

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband-Dennis; two sons-Jeff and Alan; three brothers-Ray, Virgil and Skip; and one sister-Wanda.  

Family surviving her include brother-Bob of California; sister-Lavonne of California; son-Mike (Sheryl), Cameron; daughters-Sheree (Marlin), North Charleston, SC; and Lori (Curt), Montrose, MN; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A private burial service for Carol will be held at Vergor's Cemetery in Stratford, IA, at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's local hospice in Carol's memory.
