Ellena Bernice “Bea” Whited Coleman 1931-2016

 

BETHANY Ellena Bernice “Bea” Whited Coleman, 85, was born January 7, 1931 in Plattsburg, to O.B. and Lena (Barnett) Whited and left her earthly home on Sunday, October 16, 2016.

On May 1, 1949 she married Glenn F. Coleman in Carrollton. They made their home in Cameron until 1972 when they moved to Bethany.

Bea worked at Stucker Clothing Store and later at Place’s Discount Stores in Bethany. She was promoted to the position of buyer and enjoyed her bi-annual trips to New York City on buying trips.

Bea was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, John H. Whited; and sister, Nancy Phifer.

She is survived by her daughters, Carole (Jim) Plymell, Cameron, Debra (Darrell) Burton, Bethany; grandchildren, Stacey (Chet) Yates, Cameron, Lucas (Allyssa) Plymell, Kansas City; great granddaughters, Rachel and Aly Yates; and sister, Sharron (Jay) Reynolds, Bennett Springs.

Bea has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany.

A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Graceland Memorial Cemetery, Cameron.
