Floyd L. Green 1937-2016

ALTAMONT - Floyd Lee Green, 78, Altamont was born on March 18, 1937 in Vera, Illinois to William DeWitt Green and Lora Irene (Hubner) Green.

He entered the gates of Heaven on February 3, 2016 to be with his Lord and Savior.

Floyd graduated from Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Mo. in 1955.

On May 23, 1959, he married Dee (Ward) Green in Sigourney, Iowa. They became the parents of two children, Pamela Jean and Bradley Alan.

Floyd was a member of the Carpenter’s Union #110, retiring in 2000. He worked construction most of his life, and had a great love of farming.

Floyd was a member of the Caring First Church in St. Joseph and later attended Lake Viking Church. He loved the Lord with all his heart.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry and brother-in-law, David.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dee; children, Pam (Thurman) Hoskins, Altamont, Brad, Kansas City; step-grandchildren, Felicia (Derek) Campbell and Teshia Smidt; a very special great-grandson, Hunter Smidt who meant the world to him.

He is also survived by brothers, Charles (Marinelle) Green, Johnny (Frances) Green and Donnie Green; sister, Eileen Vaught; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Floyd will be sadly missed but we have peace knowing he is with Jesus.

Visitation: 1-3 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron.

Private Family Graveside at Osborn Evergreen Cemetery.
