Harold Dean “Bud” Smith 1940 – 2018

Kidder – Harold Dean “Bud” Smith, 77, passed away on June 7 in his home. He was born in Rogers, Ark. to James and Vela Smith, who precede him in death.

He was a firefighter for the City of Independence from 1970 – 1995.

He married Barbara Caray of Shawnee, Kan. on February 15, 1 969. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Barbara of the home; two daughters, Kimberly D. Wilson, Cameron, and Angela G. (Chris) Stewart, Loxahatchee, Fla; four grandchildren, Jesse D. Wilson, Hamilton, Hannah M. Wilson, Cameron, Shelby D. Wilson, Cameron and Dylan C. Stewart, Loxahatchee, Fla.; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Winnie Cox of Prosser, Wash., and Leoma Newland of Tumwater, Wash.

There will be no services held. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
