Ivala L. Taylor 1920-2022

CAMERON - Ivala Louise Taylor, 102, passed away September 30, 2022. She was born September 13, 1920 in rural Dekalb County, Fordham, Missouri. The daughter of Roy Lester and Lela Opal (Wright) Whiteaker.

Ivala was a 1938 graduate of Cameron High School. After graduating she worked at the ASCS office in Maysville. 

On November 24, 1940 she married William E. “Bill” Taylor at the Methodist parsonage in Cameron. They spent their entire life farming in the Cameron area.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Billy; daughter, Jeanne Duke; and grandson, Robby Duke.

Ivala was a member of the First Baptist Church, Rainbow Sunday School Class, Friendship Learning Circle and the Fun and Facts Club until it folded in 2016. She loved spending time with her many lady friends each morning for coffee, and weekly lunches on Wednesday with friends at a rotation of restaurants. She enjoyed competitive games of Bingo (for the prizes), card games, ChickenFoot, quilting, and watching Mollie B. Polka Party. But most of all she loved her life and every person that was blessed to be a part of it. 

Survivors: granddaughter, Krista (Jeremy) Fort, Overland Park, Kansas; son in law, Bob Duke, Smithville, Missouri; 2 sisters, Allynn Weigand, Weatherby, Missouri and Betty Duce, Cameron, Missouri; 2 great-grandchildren, Taylor Fort and Jackson Fort; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services: 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Poland-Thompson Chapel.

Visitation 1-2 PM, one hour prior to the service.

Burial in Graceland Cemetery, Cameron, Missouri.
