James Burley Redding 1956-2018

James Burley Redding, 61, Cameron, Mo., passed away on July 14, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. 

 

Jim was born on August 22, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo., to James F. and Mary E. (Thompson) Redding.  He was a graduate of the East Buchanan High School, Gower, Mo., and received his computer/electrician degree from MTI in Kansas City, Mo.  He worked for numerous companies and for General Instruments based out of Kansas City and set-up and maintained lottery machines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, James William Redding. 

On May 22, 1983, he married Merle A. Warren.  They lived in Gower, Pasadena, Tx.,  and moved to Cameron in 1990.  Merle survives of the home.

Additional survivors:  Daughters-Charity (Chris) Masters, St. Joseph, Mo.; Delta Redding, Cameron; Elizabeth Elliot (Josh), Cameron; Son-Patrick Redding, Higginsville; Grandchildren-Zoe Seaton, Lee’s Summit; and Carson Clayton, Higginsville; Sister-Alma Trotter, St. Joseph; and a special little dog who loved and adored him, Lexie.  Jim was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  His children think he was the best story-teller.

Cremation has been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Cameron, Mo.

Celebration of Life Service:  6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Cameron Church of the Nazarene, 206 Lover’s Lane, Cameron.

Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m., until service time, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cameron Food Pantry.
