James C. Wilcox 1929-2016

 

Cameron, Missouri- James “Jim” Clifford Wilcox, 87, Cameron, passed away on July 7, 2016.

Jim was born on July 5, 1929 in Osborn to John and Mary Helen (Smith) Wilcox.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Wilcox and sister, Naomi Walton.

Jim was a 1947 graduate of Cameron High School and attended the University of Missouri.

He owned and operated Wilcox Plumbing Heating and Cooling, before retiring.

Jim was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Elmer Ellis Post #33, Cameron.

On July 5, 2009, Jim married Donna Helm Sloan. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors: 2 sons, John (Cindy) Charleston, S.C. and Cliff (Vivian) Wilcox, Wilsonville, Ore.; 2 daughters, Linda Bird, Maysville and Mary Wilcox, Richmond, Va.; step-daughter, Sheryl (John) Stith, Waco, Texas; former wife and mother of their children, Loretta Cline, Cameron; brother, Homer Lee (Judy) Wilcox, Kirkwood; sister, Mary Carolyn Miller, Kansas City; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial service: 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Cameron United Methodist Church. Visitation: 1-2:00 PM, prior to the service. Inurnment: 10:00 AM, Monday, July 11, 2016 at Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron. Memorial donations to the Stella Grinstead Nutrition Center, Cameron; Cameron United Methodist Church and/or Kidder United Methodist Church.
