James L. Coolman 1947- 2016

 

Cameron - James “Jim” Leroy Coolman, 68, Cameron, passed away on June 22, 2016.

Jim was born on August 26, 1947 in Nebraska City, Neb. to Elwin and Eleanor (Rozell) Coolman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law.

He was a teacher at Plattsmouth, Neb., Maysville and Cameron School Districts, teaching computer classes and coaching football and tennis. Jim retired from teaching in 2013 and was able to devote more time to his passions of farming and playing tennis.

Jim was an active member of the Maysville Restoration Branch Church of Jesus Christ.

On June 14, 1975, Jim married Barbara Petersen in Burwell, Neb.

She survives of the home.

Additional survivors: 2 daughters, Tina (Justin) Stuart, Blue Springs and Wendy Coolman, Cameron; 2 sons, Jeff Coolman, Kansas City and Tim (Emily) Coolman, Savannah; 7 grandchildren, Tyler, Paige and Tessa Stuart, Charlotte, Lincoln, Luke and Ivy Coolman; brother, Mic (Ladena) Coolman, Logan, Iowa and sister, Beverly Gray, Cameron.

Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Maysville Restoration Branch Church of Jesus Christ. Visitation: 6-8:00 PM, Monday evening at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Memorial Donations to Dream Catchers, a therapeutic horseback-riding program. Inurnments: Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Plattsmouth, Neb.
