Jewell H. Sloan 1922-2016

Cameron- Jewell Howard Sloan, 94, Cameron passed away on October 9, 2016.

Jewell was born on September 16, 1922 in Cameron to Christie and Helen (Stubblefield) Sloan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; 3 brothers, Lyndon, Darrell and Loren; sister, Hazelee Cain.

Jewell was a 1939 graduate of Cameron High School; a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and a lifelong farmer.

He was a member of the American Legion Elmer Ellis Post #33, Cameron and Missouri Farm Bureau.

Survivors: son, Scott (Tonya) Sloan, Cameron; daughter, Jeri Lynn (Frank) Gilleland, Fitzgerald, Ga.; brother, Eldon Dean (Helen) Sloan, Farmington, Utah; sister, Dorothy Jean Mattox, Cameron; 5 grandchildren, Cody, Justin, Troy, Haley and Jenna; 2 great-grandchildren, Aubree and Adelyn; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation: 6-7:30 PM, Thursday evening at the funeral home. Inurnment: Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron. Memorial donations to the Cameron Ag Supporters.
