Joe David Dial, Sr. 1936 - 2016

 

                  Joe David Dial, Sr., 80, of Cameron, passed away August 20, 2016, at Liberty Hospital. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until Noon, followed by services at 1 p.m., on Thursday, August 25, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cameron. Burial with military honors at 3:30 p.m. in Green Lawn Cemetery (Gate 2), Kansas City. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.

                  Joe was born June 22, 1936, in Lexington.  He worked as a baggage handler and later a fire and safety inspector for Trans World Airlines, retiring after 30 years of service. Preceding Joe in death were his father, John David Dial; mother, Nellie Haye; step-father, Virgil Haye; an infant brother; daughter, Leota Kelland; two granddaughters and a great grandson.

                  Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sharon (DeLisle) Dial; children, Veronica Dial, Dianna Theiler (James), Gloria Teaster (Michael), Adam Dial (Rosita), David Dial (Marisol), Audra Herchenroder (Jeff Weber) and Taura Powell; son-in-law, Frank Kelland; sister, Ollie Talley; 34 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
