John Edward Muders April 14, 1965 – Feb. 15, 2021

John Muders, age 55, passed away at his home in Columbus, GA on February 15, 2021. John was born on April 14, 1965 in Cameron, MO to Bill and Doris (Sweany) Muders. After high school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for over twenty years. During this time, he married his high school sweetheart Paula (Shelli) Reed. They remained married for thirty-five years. They had two daughters together, Carri (Muders) Haywood and Sarah Muders.

John rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class in his career in the military, was an Airborne Ranger, Drill Sergeant, and earned accreditations in combat and ammunition. His career led to eventually working security at Spring Harbor nursing home in Columbus, GA.

John was an accomplished runner, running several marathons beginning in his 30s. He also was a self-taught musician, teaching himself banjo and drums. He was passionate about football and could always be found wearing some University of Georgia or Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia.

John was a caring, compassionate father whose greatest joys came in being with his family -- especially his granddaughter Frances Haywood (who he loved to call "Frankie Bean").

John is survived by his parents Bill and Doris Muders, sister Donna Seabolt and her husband Ed, daughters Sarah and Carri, granddaughter Frances, son-in-law Jay, Shelli Muders, many nephews, one niece, and other family members.

Visitation at Fellowship Worship Center, Cameron, MO, Saturday 17th, 2pm Memorial Service follows at 3pm.
