Lanny D. Searcy 1940-2022
PATTONSBURG - Lanny D. Searcy, 82, (Pattonsburg, MO) passed away May 28, 2022 at his home in Pattonsburg, MO.
Lanny was born January 30, 1940 in Weatherby, MO, the son of Troy E. and Genevieve (Mikes) Searcy.
Lanny graduated from Winston High School in 1958. His work history included Pattonsburg Municipal Utilities, Capital Electric, and PAR Electric. He retired in 1997. He was also a member of IBEW Local #53, and a lifelong member of Western Star Masonic Lodge #15 AF & AM. He loved wintering in Texas with close friends Clyde and Helen Bozarth.
On February 27, 1958 he was united in marriage to Caroline Gibson. She preceded him in death on November 13, 1992. He then married Peggy Teel on January 17, 1997. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a great-grandchild Everly Hulet.
Survivors include his close friend, Leanna Thompson, Pattonsburg, MO; his children, Lana Dianne (Greg) Kempf, Boonville, MO, Linda Gray, Cameron, MO, Debbie Elder, Cameron, MO, Jimmy Wayne (Brenda) Teel, St. Joseph, MO, and Kristie (Randy) Hulet, McFall, MO; 1 sister, Janice (Richard) Hardin, Albany, MO; his aunt, Dorothy Anderson, Blue Springs, MO; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services with Masonic Rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Burial will follow in Old Town Cemetery, Pattonsburg, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Old Town Cemetery, Pattonsburg, MO in care of Roberson Funeral Home P.O.
