Mary A. Sloan 1929-2017
Stewartsville - Mary Alice Sloan, 87, passed away on March 12, 2017.
Mary was born April 1, 1929 in Cameron, to Daniel and Naomi Ruth (Sloan) Stade.
On April 5, 1947, Mary married Melvin D. Sloan in Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; infant twin daughters; son, Roy Dan Sloan; great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Yocum; sister, Jane MacDonald; brother, Charles J. Stade.
Mary was a member of the Freeman Freewill Baptist Church, St. Joseph.
Survivors: 2 sons, James Ray (Judy) Sloan, Lincoln, Ill., Melvin E. Sloan, Stewartsville; 2 daughters, Mary Naomi (Mark) Traeger, Williamsville, Ill. and Elaine (Melvin) Berndt, Williamsville, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Rita Sloan, Springfield, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Robinson, Brookfield; brother, Dan Edward; sister-in-law, Doris Keller and brother-in-law, Carl Sloan.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation was held at 10-11:00 a.m., prior to the service. Burial: Mirabile Cemetery, Mirabile. Memorial donations to the Freeman Freewill Baptist Church, St. Joseph.
