Peggy J. Stephens 1936 – 2015

CAMERON - Peggy J. Stephens, 79, of Cameron passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at a Kansas City hospital.

Mrs. Stephens has been cremated under the care of Clark-Sampson Funeral Home. Per Peggy’s request, there were no services. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Peggy was born January 24, 1936 in rural Daviess County to Elmer and Dora (Dyer) Stretch. She was of the Methodist faith. Peggy grew up in the Gallatin area, and graduated from Gallatin High School. She worked for the Lambert Cap Factory and the Five and Dime Store in Gallatin before moving to Cameron where she worked for Quail Run Nursing Home and Cameron Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Morrow.

She is survived by one son, Danny Stephens and wife Samantha; five sisters, Bonnie Schmedding, Phoenix, Winona Payne, Kidder, Geraldine Sykes, Independence, Doris Stretch, Cameron, Vivian and husband Cecil Jones, Lawson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
