Ronald Lee Neal 1957-2021

Ronald Lee Neal, age 64, passed away on July 1, 2021 in Kansas City, MO, surrounded by his loved ones.

Ron was born the son of Doyle Neal and Doris McQueen (Neal) on June 14, 1957 in Cameron, MO. At Cameron High School, he helped the Cameron Dragon’s Football team go undefeated in 1973 & 1974. During his senior year, he received All-State honors on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

After high school, Ron joined the labor force and worked road construction for the next 25 years. He was known as a hard worker who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

In 1988, he married Jayne Neal (Daniels) and moved to Harrisonville, MO. They went on to raise two spoiled daughters and have a lifetime of memories. In his spare time, he loved going to the girls’ sporting events and coaching from the stands. On the weekends you could find him camping and spending time with his family. He was known as a silly guy with just the right amount of sarcasm.
In 2003, he moved to Drexel, Missouri where he made countless lifelong friendships. He always started the day with a smile and a trip to Casey’s for coffee.

Ron is survived by his daughters Tara Neal & Mollie Neal; sister, Diane Tauoa (Neal); brother, Tom Neal; sister, Vickie (Mark) Hoig; brother, Dan (Kathy) Neal; aunt, Carlena Bradford; aunt, Barbara Korneman (Neal); step-dad, Richard McQueen; niece, Tiffany Provance; niece, Misty (Curtis) Houghton; niece, Kristin (Matt) Grant; nephew, Benjamin Neal; nieces, Sarah & Heather Neal; and many other cousins and great-nieces/nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Doyle Neal & Doris (Neal) McQueen; his grandparents Clarence & Virginia Bradford & William & Noralie Neal; and his brother-in-law, Joe Tauoa.

There will be a celebration of life at 2:00 pm on July 31st at the Cameron Elks Lodge 9018 NE Hwy 69, Cameron, MO 64429.
