Ross S. Johnson

Kansas City - Ross Johnson (87) was born January 20, 1932 in Kansas City, KS to Joseph R. and Alice C. (Turnbough) Johnson. Ross served proudly in the US Army during the Korea Conflict (from 1952-1954). Ross was a computer programmer who enjoyed bowling, photography and was an avid music record collector.

Ross was preceded in death by his father, Joseph R. Johnson; mother, Alice Clark; grandparents, Shirley Ross and Minnie Mae Turnbough; brother, Robert J. Johnson and Frank Clark; sister, Allene Douglas and Dorene Acuff.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Johnson; daughter, Gwen (Martin) Forsythe; grandsons, Kyle (Courtney) Forsythe and Jacob Forsythe; great grandson, Wyatt; brother’s-in-law, Dale (Nancy) Doron, Larry Douglas, and Jerry Acuff; sister-in-law, Barbara Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece.

Memorial services are set for 1:45 PM on Friday, March 29, 2019 at White Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cameron Backpack Buddies (c/o Cameron Ministerial Alliance PO Box 215 Cameron, MO 64429).
