Violet Louise Kirkendoll 1939-2022

Violet Louise Kirkendoll, 83, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO of Kansas City, Mo passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022, at home surrounded in love by her family.  She was born May 18, 1939 Cameron, MO to Jesse and Lucille (Bradford) Barnard.

Violet attended Park Hill High School before graduating from East Jefferson High School in Metairie, LA.  She had a long and rewarding career with the United States Postal Service, where she was the first female mail carrier in the Kansas City area.  Following her 30 plus year career, she went back to school to learn about computers and graduated from Maple Woods Community College in 2001.  Violet had a thirst for knowledge and strong will to work and complete tasks most would hire out.  In her spare time she enjoyed traveling and being on the water. She was a long -time member of the Missouri River Boat Club Association in Parkville.

Family was most important to Violet.  She leaves behind two sons: Michael Ray Kirkendoll (Sharon) of Holt, MO and Mitchell Lane Kirkendoll (Angie) of Parkville, MO; four beloved grandchildren: Chrisha Renee Terry (Brad), Justin Lane Kirkendoll (Sheena), Lucas Ray Kirkendoll and Mitchell Lee Kirkendoll; and two beloved great grandchildren, Allie and Kaiden. Violet was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Donna “Sharon” Rule.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted with the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.  Memories of Violet and condolences may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
