Aces For Aiden holds second annual sand volleyball tournament
The Aiden McVicker Charitable Fund held their second of three annual fundraiser events last Saturday, June 4, with the second annual Aces For Aiden Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament at Cameron’s Recreation Park.
The fund was established ten years ago in honor of Aiden McVicker, son of Jamey and Amy McVicker, who was born in 2001 with bilateral anophthalmia, a condition involving the absence of one or both eyes, eye structure, and light perception. The fund serves to assist specialized schools and organizations, such as the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI) of Kansas City, and provide aid to families of special needs children in the area by way of educational classes/conferences, adaptive devices, etc.
The event follows the ninth annual Aces Fore Aiden Golf Tournament, which was held in May, and precedes precedes the second annual Crossroads Crush Art, Music, and Spirit Festival, which will be held in September.
