Band Students Perform WinterFest Concert
Christmas was in the air as student bands under the direction of Blake Duren and Ann Goodwin Clark performed in the Winterfest 2018 concert at Cameron High School. Those in attendance were treated to music by different levels of student musicians.
The program began with the 6th grade band, proceeded through the 7th and 8th grade bands, followed by a superb performance by the Jazz Band and finally, the Symphonic Band. It was an evening of great music from an excellent music program which consistently develops outstanding musicians.
The Symphonic Band celebrated the 200th anniversary of Silent Night with audience participation, singing the traditional hymn. The evening ended with a rousing performance of highlights from Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, including the chimes, cannons (drums), and the brass fanfare finale. It was an inspiring finish to a great evening.
Band supporters offered luscious desserts and drinks afterwards.
