The Dragons and Tigers anticipate possession during last Thursday’s game.

Boys soccer takes losses against Cardinals and Tigers

The Cameron High School boys soccer team went 0-2 last week, after taking on the Benton Cardinals and the Excelsior Springs Tigers.

On Monday, September 12, the Dragons fell to the Cardinals. The Dragons were trailed 2-1 at the half, after senior Seth Morrison picked up a goal. In the second half, Cameron was scored on once more, and, after an own goal, the game ended with the Dragons down 4-1.

On Thursday, September 15, the Dragons were shut out 7-0 by the Tigers at home.

We've started to move the ball better and make better decisions with the ball. We need to work on switching the field to build a better attack.” Head Coach Kaleb Kerr said. “We need to do a better job of pressuring the ball all over the field, breaking down players who have the ball when attacking, and staying in our positions and not watching the ball.”

Kerr also stated that, looking at the remainder of the season, he would like to not be facing as many injuries in order to “be at full strength to compete against our opponents.”
