CHS basketball roundup

The Cameron boys and girls basketball teams played their final games before the holiday break on Tuesday.

The Lady Dragons suffered a 41-30 loss to Hamilton at the NCMC Holiday Hoops in Trenton and the Dragons defeated Lathrop, 51-37, at the CHS gym.

Haley Evans led the Lady Dragons with nine points against the Hornets. Emily Spencer scored six points. Eastin McDowell added four points. Sydney Nichols and Brianna O’Grady had three points apiece. Paige Harper and Taylor Urich scored two points each and Olivia Nelson added one point.

Mariah Blackburn led Hamilton with 16 points and Meredith Clevenger scored 11.

Three players scored in double figures for the Dragons in their win over the Mules.

Parker Whitacre made four three-point buckets and led the Dragons with 16 points. Andrew Pratt added 12 and Jaxson Frazier scored 11. Kyler Hill scored nine points and Dre Dickerson had three.

Conner Vanderkooi scored 11 points to pace the Mules and Jake Kipp added nine.

Both Cameron teams will be idle until Jan. 4 when they host East Buchanan in a doubleheader.
