CHS hosts first golf tournament of the season

 

Cameron High School’s Boys Varsity Golf team hosted their first tournament of the season on Wednesday, April 13 at Cameron’s Veterans Memorial Golf Course.

The boys competed against teams from Excelsior Springs, Gallatin, Lafayette County C-1, Lathrop, Lawson, Maryville, Plattsburg, Richmond, South Harrison, St. Joe Leblond, St. Joe Benton, St. Joe Lafayette, and Trenton.

Junior Chase Foreman shot a 38 on the front nine holes and a 39 on the back nine for a total of 77. Foreman finished in eighth place as an individual medalist. Sophomore Sam Morrison shot a 38 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine for a total of 80. Sophomore Spencer Teel shot a 39 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine, tying for tenth for a medalist finish with a score of 79, and Sophomore Kyler Hill shot a 37 on the front nine and a 43 on the back nine for a total of 80. Senior, and fifth man, Tanner Slover shot a 41 on the front nine and a 43 on the back 9 for a total of 84. The team’s highest four scores put Cameron at a team total of 316.

The team finished third overall, behind Smithville’s 312 and Gallatin’s 315.
