Football team warms up with jamboree

Cameron High School’s football team warmed up for the 2016 season by hosting a Jamboree on Friday, August 12 at Dave Goodwin Field.

The Savannah Savages, East Buchanan Bulldogs, and Lawson Cardinals attended the Jamboree.

Senior Caleb Shanks started at the quarterback position for the Dragons.

“We had a slow start, but once our nerves settled we started making some gains.” Head Coach John Kliewer said. “Jamborees are hard because it's a limited amount of reps for each team. So getting any momentum is difficult. I think these guys see the potential they have. If we can figure out how to settle down sooner and jump on teams when we play, that will help us tremendously throughout the season.”

The Dragons will travel to Lafayette to face the Fighting Irish for their season opener on Friday, August 19.
