Golfer advances to state

Sophomore golfer Sam Morrison advanced to state, after last Monday’s sectional tournament at Liberty Hills Golf Course.

Morrison stroked a score of 80 (3 under the cut off score) at sectionals while Junior Chase Foreman finished with an 89, and Sophomore Spencer Teel with a 98.

“My game has been kind of up and down these past couple of weeks, but I have been grinding out respectable scores. I hope I can go low in Springfield and take home a medal.” Morrison said, prior to traveling to Springfield to play in the state championship on May 16 and 17. Morrison endured a rainy first day of state, ending the day with an 85. The second round was cancelled due to rain.
