Gordon, Harrison lead hockey Griffons to win

Cameron High School students Tanner Gordon and Grant Harrison led the St. Joseph Griffons ice hockey club to a 5-3 win over the Kansas City Jr. Mavs in a Mid America High School Hockey League contest Saturday at the Independence Events Center.

Harrison assisted on a goal scored by Nolan Ham to give the Griffons the lead in the first period. In the second period, Zachary Rich put the Griffons up, 2-0, and then Gordon scored his fifth goal of the season for a 3-0 St. Joseph lead.

Griffons goaltender Corey Martin made 12 saves for the win.

The Griffons are now 10-6-2 for the season.
