Irish throttle Dragons

Lafayette sprinted to a 35-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and handed the Cameron Dragons an 89-24 loss in MEC basketball at the CHS gym Friday night.
The Irish held a 50-17 lead at the half.
Parker Whitacre scored 11 points for the Dragons. Andrew Pratt had six. Sam Morrison scored three and Dre Dickerson and Kyler Hill added two points each.
Caleb Bennett led Lafayette with 19 points. Sterling Hicks scored 16 and Diego Bernard added 14.
The Dragons return to action Monday when they visit Hamilton.
