Wrestlers finish second at Bronco Invitational
The Cameron wrestling team came in second place at the Bronco Invitational at Lee’s Summit North on Saturday.
CHS totaled 180 points, finishing half a point behind Kearney.
The Dragons had two individual champions, Kyle Anderson at 170-pounds and Tyler Gerber at 195-pounds. Levi Marlay placed second at 285-pounds. Ty Pratt (106), Justin Gans (126), Dawson Cox (160) and Caleb Shanks (182) each came in third place. Finishing in fourth place was Chase Foreman (113) and Colby Gerber (220).
Anderson defeated Landon Cairer of Oak Grove in sudden victory, 3-1, to capture the 170-pound title.
Gerber won by fall at 4:09 against Travis Fisher of Park Hill South for the 195-pound title.
Marlay lost to Vincent Spalitto of Rockhurst, 4-3, in the 285-pound final.
In other results for the Dragons, Steven Walser placed sixth at 145-pounds, Austin Heldenbrand came in seventh at 152-pounds, Jon Stevenson was eighth at 120-pounds, Josh Stevenson came in 11th at 132-pounds, and Logan Cantwell finished 12th at 138-pounds.
The Dragons return to action Tuesday when they travel to Richmond to face Odessa and the host Spartans.
